Last week, Rolling Stone asked readers to vote for the worst song of the 1990s. And heading the list is "Barbie Girl". Water
"Barbie Girl" - written by the Danish group Aqua dance-pop - This is a song incredibly polarizing. Many were hurt in a way, she is a plastic doll, asking him to "undress me everywhere." Others loved the over-the-top comic book style video and a strange voice singing.
Mattel (the makers of Barbie) were less happy that their products are presented as overtly sexual and defendants. The courts have ruled that the song was a parody and therefore allows, but Mattel has taken all the way to the Supreme Court. The company had a change of heart in 2009 when they changed the lyrics and the song used in an advertising campaign.
