Rare! Jeff Francoeur Is A Rookie With Ol '9 -3 Putout
Consider it a lesson learned: If Michael Taylor (note) to record multiple hits when the arm of Jeff Francoeur rocket (note) played right field, he is forced to pick up the pace on his way to the first.
Oakland Athletics rookie became only the fifth player in the American League since 1974 the victim of a putout 9-3 when a throw from Kansas City came right field to first base before him.
It was a little embarrassing moment for the young September call-up, who won his first major league hit on Tuesday night and thought he had nailed his second before Frenchy for the third Wednesday of the second round.
Up to notify the issuer to play swing as Taylor has achieved a success until Francoeur hop quickly picked up and fired the ball to the warning by Eric Hosmer (notes).
"I knew it would be a close game," said Taylor. "I hit him and I knew I hit it right on him. I went out and I jumped right on him, and he makes a strong jet . It was a great player. He did everything he could do and I what to do and it came out on top. "

As Brian Wilson (notes) used to say that the Giants good morning, "Got heeem"
Discovery of an unusual game here:
Although it was only the fifth in history putout AL since 1974 - the longest of these types of documents going back - it's a bit more frequent in the National League where pitchers often wander tough on the road to first base. 09.03 There were 31 putouts in the NL since '74. Perhaps the most famous came long before that: As far back as 1880 when a 9-3 putout saved the first perfect game in baseball history pro Lee Richmond of Worcester.
Different media mentioned Francoeur, saying that this was the second 9-3 putout of his career, but he remembered that gambling is a bit 'confused. He says Mat Latos (Notes) at first, when he played for the Mets, but as this video shows, Francoeur attempt sailed over the head of a man on first base, and Latos reached safely.
Taylor was not so lucky with this one. Since Francoeur (Hosmer and) pull the company was quite fun, especially when Taylor was not just jogging on the first way.
"The ball I was mixed with hip-perfect," said Francoeur. "You have to give much credit Hoz, too, because he saw what was charged and just run right to the bag and just let me go. Somehow I feel bad because you made a man in his fourth game in the Major league, but hey, it was very, very funny. "
He agreed and eventually maybe even Taylor can return to it and laugh. After all, the A's won 7-0 and Taylor got the second win of his career back in the game.
